(Preschool - Grade 12) is celebrating it's 41st year of bringing Waldorf education to Northern California. Our school has two beautiful campuses: Preschool through grade 5 in Los Altos and a few miles away in Mountain View are grades 6-12. Our school is a full member of and accredited by the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America and fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Waldorf School of the Peninsula is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic Grades Class Teacher. We are looking for a dynamic individual who is interested in joining our well-established grades faculty within a growing and thriving Silicon Valley community.
Our energetic group of students seeks a teacher who can engage their eagerness to know about their world and to experience its wonder. They love to move and explore everything that moves around them. We are looking for a teacher to guide their love of learning through a calming presence as they meet you with their bright eyes and passion for life. They cannot wait to meet you.
This Position Includes, But Is Not Limited To

Teach main lessons and other periods for grade levels 1-8, following the school’s scope and sequence.

Assess individual students’ progress, both academically and socially, while developing a trusting partnership with parents.

Create and maintain a socially functional and cohesive group of students and manage social and emotional class dynamics.

Attend and participate in faculty development conferences and Waldorf School of the Peninsula professional development days.

Write quarterly, semi-annual, and annual student reports.

Work closely with education support for assessments and students who need accommodations and to implement accommodations when required and feasible.

Schedule and organize parent class meetings throughout the year, with occasional one on one scheduled parent-teacher conferences.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in the field of Education or a closely related field

Two years of Waldorf class teaching experience.

Certificate of Completion in Waldorf Teaching
Benefits And Compensation
The position is compensated at $75,000 per year.
