Grain Accountant

Alliance Ag and Grain LLC has an exciting opportunity at our Spearville Kansas office. We are looking for a Grain Accountant. Duties will include accounting for grain inventories and hedges, monthly financial accruals and other accounting functions. As a candidate you must be detail oriented, able to accommodate special requests and projects, capable of successfully meeting deadlines, and have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage and Maintain the accounting for grain inventories and hedges
• Contract management - maintain database of customer contracts
• Maintain monthly financial accruals assuring that all units and dollars are balanced.
• Prepare transactions AP/AR entry of commodity purchases/sales
• Provide customer service for all issues and concerns of the grain accounting department.
• Perform other duties as requested by administration and merchandising
• Work cooperatively with others.
• Working knowledge of office functions and equipment.

Basic Qualifications: (required)

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.
• Accounting or Finance experience to include:
• Accounts payable
• Accounts Receivable
• Experience with commodity accounting systems and software preferred
• Reconciliation and problem solving
• Working with internal and external customers
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Products
