Overview
Trinity Classical Academy is seeking a faithfully dedicated Grammar School Teacher to join our faculty. The Grammar School teacher plays a vital role in forming students during the foundational years of the classical Trivium, where habits of attention, wonder, and joyful obedience are cultivated. The ideal candidate loves children, delights in teaching truth, goodness, and beauty, and understands education as the formation of both the mind and the heart under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
Responsibilities
- Provide clear, engaging instruction rooted in the Grammar Stage of the classical model, emphasizing mastery, memory, and joyful repetition
- Teach grammar, language arts, and integrated subjects in accordance with Trinity Classical Academy’s curriculum, scope, and sequence
- Cultivate an orderly, nurturing classroom environment that reflects Christian charity, discipline, and respect
- Prepare thoughtful, well-structured lesson plans that honor developmental readiness while maintaining high academic standards
- Assess student progress through narration, recitation, written work, and formal evaluations, offering timely and meaningful feedback
- Foster students’ moral, social, and spiritual formation by modeling Christlike character and biblical worldview integration
- Collaborate closely with fellow faculty, administration, and families to support each student’s growth and flourishing
- Participate fully in the life of the school, including staff meetings, chapel, professional development, and community events
- Use instructional tools and technology prudently to support learning while preserving the integrity of classical pedagogy
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Classics, or a related field is preferred
- Teaching certification or demonstrated competence and experience in elementary or middle grades instruction
- Prior experience in a Classical Christian school or familiarity with classical pedagogy is preferred
- An appreciation and understanding of classical education, including the Trivium and the integration of faith and learning
- Strong communication skills and the ability to instruct, encourage, and shepherd young students
- A teachable spirit, commitment to collaboration, and love for lifelong learning
- Agreement with Trinity Classical Academy’s mission, values, and Statement of Faith
Pay: $30,000.00 per year
