Job Title: Grande Vista Bar & Grill Server

Reports To: Director of Restaurants

Overview: Grande Vista Bar & Grill is Emerald Grande’s signature restaurant located on the Destin Harbor overlooking Florida’s beautiful Emerald Coast with spectacular views of the Gulf of Mexico, Choctawhatchee Bay, East Pass and the Destin Harbor. Grande Vista Bar & Grill offers breakfast, lunch, dinner, full Poolside food & beverage service along with In Room Dining.

Summary: Each server’s primary objective is to provide friendly, responsive and efficient service to all restaurant and hotel guests through effective time management, overall professionalism and poise. The restaurant server is responsible for providing a gracious level of service to guests to support guest satisfaction.

The restaurant server is also responsible for contributing to an environment within the restaurant and bar which encourages fellow co-workers to be happy, motivated and proud of the products and services provided by the restaurant.

The restaurant server is a crucial contributor to building a loyal following amongst guests, thus increasing business and furthering the restaurant’s reputation of providing a legendary experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• To ensure that guests are greeted and served in a timely and pleasant manner.
• To take food and drink orders for all guests that comes into a restaurant and the pool deck.
• To prepare and stock the kitchen with all necessary items.
• To support the bartenders, host/hostess, and expo in any way to make the guest experience legendary.
• To be knowledgeable about all menus, the resort, and the harbor.
• Be able to communicate clearly, effectively and confidently with our guests and supporting staff.
• Must have exceptional grooming habits.
• Wipe down all highchairs and boosters
• Clean and fill all sugar caddies & salt and peppers
• Sweep the dining room and pick up trash on pool deck
• Keep the kitchen clean and organized

Education and Experience Requirements

Highschool diploma or GED; a minimum of two years’ experience in food & beverage and/or customer service preferred.

Knowledge

• Excellent attention to detail, to include portion sizing for production in bulk, and supervising the exceptional presentation of all product

Reasoning Ability

Other Qualifications

Availability Open and operational seven days a week. Employees are required to be available to workdays, nights, weekends, and holidays.

License Requirements Valid driver’s license that has been in effect for at least three years, with no major violations and no more than two minor violations in the past three years.

Rules and Regulations All employees must adhere to all safety rules and regulations required by local, State and Federal authorities, wear the appropriate personal protective equipment necessary to perform the job in a safe manner and will follow all safety rules per the Company’s Safety Policy.

Language Skills Must be able to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
