Grant and Contract Writer Internship
As part of Miami AC’s (MAC) Development and Communications team, the Grant and Contract Writer achieves fundraising goals by securing grants that support MAC programs and operations. Reporting to the Club President, the Grant and Contract Writer intern is responsible for researching strategic opportunities, developing compelling written funding requests, and fulfilling reporting requirements of foundations, corporations, and government agencies. This position requires ability to multitask, as well as excellent attention to detail and written communication skills. The Grant and Contract Writer is primarily responsible for researching, writing, and developing grant proposals, letters of inquiry, reports and other funding-related requests to foundations, corporations, and government agencies that align with Miami AC's fundraising priorities.
Internship:
This is a internship position.
In this role:

Maintain portfolio of 50-80 foundation and corporate prospects, with a goal of securing $250,000+ in grant funding annually.

Research foundations, corporations, and other grant-making entities to identify potential opportunities; create an ever-evolving pipeline of prospects.

Coordinate the grant and contract process from start to finish, ensuring the development, writing, and submission of funding proposals and grant applications, in accordance with individual funders’ guidelines. This includes production of cover letters, narratives, application forms, project budgets, etc.

Partner with program directors to: a) gather information necessary for a comprehensive and compelling proposal, and b) track and report on grants in a timely manner, as required by funders.

Work closely with the Finance Department to ensure smooth notification of funding, processing of payments, and tracking of expenditures.

Conduct follow-up communications with funders to provide additional supportive materials, as needed.

Identify opportunities to increase support from current foundation donors and secure new funding from lapsed or new foundations.

Maintain grant calendar and establish timelines to complete the collection of relevant data/information for proposal content, internal routing and approvals, and submission to funding sources.

Develop foundational understanding of Miami AC’s mission, programs, and strategic vision to successfully guide grant procurement process.

Stay current on the latest fundraising techniques to attract new foundations and corporations while also adopting new practices to further the clubs fundraising goals.
