Position Summary
North Lawndale College Prep (NLCP), a high school committed to academic excellence and holistic student development, is seeking a Grant Writer (Contractor, $25–$35/hour; weekly hours vary based on organizational needs) to manage a growing grant portfolio. This role will maintain 30–50 active funder relationships and support the submission of approximately 100 proposals annually, along with required reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Research and identify grant opportunities at the state and national levels, including government and private funders.

Develop, write, and submit high-quality grant proposals and reports aligned with organizational priorities and funder requirements.

Manage the full grant lifecycle, including tracking deadlines, maintaining a grant calendar, and ensuring timely submissions.

Collaborate with the Development Associate and leadership team to gather content, define project scope, and align proposals with organizational goals.

Maintain accurate records and manage grant-related data within the organization's database.

Build and sustain strong relationships with funders, including responding to inquiries and providing updates.

Contribute grant-related content for external communications, including newsletters, blogs, and social media.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field (Master's preferred).

2–5 years of grant writing experience with a strong track record of successful proposals.

Knowledge of fundraising and proposal submission processes.

Strong research, writing, organizational, and time management skills.

Ability to manage multiple deadlines and handle confidential information with integrity.

Proficiency with standard computer applications and database systems.
