Monterey Museum of Art is searching for a Graphic Design & Social Media Coordinator who is a creative and detail-oriented professional responsible for producing on-brand visual content across print, digital, and social media platforms in support of Monterey Museum of Art’s exhibitions, programs, and institutional initiatives. This role will be closely partnered with the Manager of Marketing & Publications and the Director of Marketing & Communications to ensure all design and digital content reflects MMA’s brand standards, voice, and strategic goals. The Graphic Design & Social Media Coordinator will have strong design skills, social media fluency, and a collaborative spirit.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Communications, Art, Art History, Liberal Arts, or related field.
- Professional experience: two to four years of experience in marketing-related work, within a creative context. Graphic design and digital marketing experience are essential.
- Must be detail-oriented and deadline driven with strong time and project management skills.
- Visual design abilities and creativity.
- Ability to follow museum best practices and create consistent content in alignment with museum mission, optimizing campaigns across various channels including social media, email updates, and traditional print media.
- Enthusiastic, dependable, eager to learn and grow. Must have a good attitude and be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.
- Flexible schedule to attend special events.
- Knowledge/skills/abilities: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Interest in art and museums. Experience working with Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Canva, Descript, Podio, Microsoft Office Suite, Asana, SEO, and website updating preferred. Goal-oriented. Strong writing abilities.
- Photography, running social media ads; experience working in a museum setting, the arts, or other nonprofit preferred.
Pay Range: $25-$27 per hour (Full-time/Benefits)
Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
