Position Summary

The Graphic Designer is responsible for creating high-quality designs that reflect client needs and align with Modern Signs & Graphics’ standards of creativity, precision, and service. This role requires translating client concepts into finished artwork for signage, vehicle wraps, promotional materials, and other graphics, ensuring accuracy in layout, color, and brand representation. The Graphic Designer will collaborate closely with sales, project managers, production, and installation teams to deliver on-time solutions that exceed customer expectations.

The ideal candidate combines creative vision with technical skill, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and values building strong partnerships with both clients and colleagues. This position reports directly to the Signs & Graphics Operations Manager.

Essential Functions

• Design & Production: Develop creative concepts and produce digital files for signage, graphics, wraps, and promotional materials.
• Client Collaboration: Work with sales and clients to understand design needs, present proofs, and refine artwork to achieve customer goals.
• Pre-Press Preparation: Prepare files for large-format printing, vinyl cutting, and other production processes with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Brand Consistency: Ensure all designs meet brand guidelines, maintain quality standards, and convey professionalism.
• Cross-Functional Support: Partner with project managers, production and installation teams to ensure designs are feasible, practical, and properly executed.
• Time & Project Management: Balance multiple design projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines without sacrificing quality.
• Innovation: Stay current on design trends, software updates, and new materials/techniques to continually bring fresh ideas to clients.
• Any additional task assigned by manager. Responsibilities may change at any time with or without notice.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
We’re seeking a designer who thrives on creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving. The Graphic Designer should be passionate about turning ideas into impactful visuals, comfortable juggling multiple projects, and motivated by seeing their work make a real impact in the community.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related degree/field experience is required.
• 2+ years of professional graphic design experience, preferably in signage, large-format graphics, or a related industry.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and familiarity with other sign-making software.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating design range, attention to detail, and technical execution.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal teams, translating ideas into clear visual solutions.
• Knowledge of print production processes, color management, and file preparation.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Positive, team-oriented attitude with a customer-first mindset.

Physical Demands

Regular sitting, standing, and computer work. Visual acuity required for detailed design work.

Work Environment / Schedule

Work takes place in an office environment with regular interaction in production and installation areas. Standard Monday-Friday schedule.
