Graphic Designer

We are a Souvenir/Gift Supply Company seeking a Graphic Designer for our Digital and Souvenir Production. For over 75 years Smith-Western Co. has been creating and supplying customers all around the world with the newest products, stunning art, and amazing customer service.

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Graphic Designer with strong illustration skills. This position is ideal for Entry-Level designers. The ideal candidate should have advanced proficiency with Adobe Suite programs, an in-depth knowledge of graphic design fundamentals, layout techniques, and a strong eye for typography. The Graphic Designer will work closely with the members of the Art Department and account managers to execute creative ideas and develop products for a wide variety of clients.

Responsibilities

• Oversee own design projects, from conception to production under Art Director's review.
• Design high-quality original pieces, including illustrations, art concepts, and product templates.
• Prioritize and manage multiple projects in a timely manner.
• Work independently and collaborate professionally with a team.
• Conduct peer review to ensure high quality & consistency.
• Photography and image refinement.
• Maintaining brand consistency for a variety of clients.
• Preparing artwork for factory production.
• Creating in-house presentations and marketing materials.

Skills & Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or related field.
• Strong working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop on Mac OS. Experience in Adobe InDesign and/or Procreate is a plus.
• Experience as a Graphic Designer or similar role.
• Strong, diverse design portfolio.
• Strong hand-drawn, computer, and/or vector illustration skills in diverse styles.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office programs – Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
• Able to give, receive, and apply constructive criticism.
• Ability to present design ideas professionally.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, organization, and time management skills.
• Familiarization with social media platforms / marketing and website design is a plus.
