Graphic Designer

Description:

The Graphic Designer supports the IT Department by combining technical and creative skills to ensure that both the functionality and visual communication of the store operate seamlessly.

This role requires knowledge of Windows-based computer systems and software, as well as proficiency in Adobe Illustrator for the design of small commercial signs, labels, shelf tags, and other store materials (up to 17 x 11”).

The position ensures that computers, printers, networks, and point-of-sale systems work optimally. The candidate installs and configures hardware and software, maintains devices, and troubleshoots technical issues as needed. A strong understanding of electrical and electronic systems is essential for troubleshooting and repair tasks.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive and adaptable approach, possess strong logic and common sense, and show a genuine willingness to learn and grow both personally and professionally

Requirements:

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to service issues and requests in a timely manner.
• Provide technical support for electronic equipment such as industrial printers, handheld scanners, and tablets (PC, iPad, Android).
• Create and maintain store signage, labels, and promotional materials using Adobe Illustrator.
• Repair and replace specialized equipment as necessary.
• Perform accurate and efficient data entry and system management.
• Train users and junior staff on hardware, software, and design procedures.
• Establish and test hardware connections for errors or faults.
• Gather data, evaluate options, and recommend courses of action to achieve departmental objectives.
• Maintain a safe working environment (non-slip shoes required; company does not provide).

Required Knowledge & Skills:

• Adobe Illustrator (Advanced Proficiency Required)

• Create and use guides effectively.
• Create and modify text using styles and effects.
• Create and manage symbols and their placement.
• Modify, combine, crop, resize, and scale images.
• Work proficiently with layers, clipping masks, symbols, and swatches.
• Create reusable templates.
• Accurately calculate and work within Illustrator’s coordinate system to correctly position objects on the artboard (canvas).
