Graphic Designer

The Vehicle Graphics Designer is responsible for creating high-quality visual designs for vehicle wraps, decals, fleet branding, and specialty graphics. This role involves concept development, digital design, file preparation for production, and collaboration with installers and clients to ensure accurate and visually appealing results.

Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & Creative Work

• Develop concepts and layouts for vehicle wraps, decals, fleet branding, and promotional graphics.
• Create accurate templates and scaled designs for various vehicle makes and models.
• Produce high-quality digital artwork using industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CorelDRAW).
• Ensure designs align with brand guidelines and project objectives.
• Prepare mockups and presentations for client approval.

Production Preparation

• Set up print-ready files, including correct color profiles, bleed, contours, and cut/print layers.
• Work closely with print operators to ensure color accuracy and material compatibility.
• Adjust artwork as needed based on installer feedback and vehicle measurements.
• Ensure all files meet printer and plotter specifications.

Collaboration & Communication

• Meet with clients or project managers to understand design requirements.
• Communicate effectively with wrap installers to ensure design feasibility and smooth installation.
• Coordinate with sales, marketing, and production teams to deliver projects on time.

Quality Control

• Review vehicle templates, measurements, and proofs for accuracy before production.
• Perform final checks on printed graphics to ensure quality and color consistency.
• Update designs as needed based on real-world installation challenges.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience in vehicle wrap design, sign making, or related graphic design field.
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) or CorelDRAW.
• Understanding of large-format printing, vinyl materials, and wrap installation processes.
• Ability to design on complex vehicle surfaces with awareness of curves, seams, and obstructions.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in scaling, measurement, and layout.
• Excellent communication and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a sign shop, print shop, or vehicle wrap business.
• Knowledge of color management and RIP software (e.g., Onyx, Flexi, VersaWorks).
• Familiarity with 3D modeling or vehicle templating software (e.g., Pro Vehicle Outlines, 3M templates).
• Basic understanding of wrap installation techniques.

Work Environment

• Fast-paced production environment with tight deadlines.
• Collaboration with designers, installers, print operators, and project managers.
• Occasional hands-on assistance with measuring vehicles or aiding installers.

Physical Requirements (optional)

• Ability to stand, bend, or work around vehicles when evaluating measurements or graphics placement.
• Ability to lift printed materials or samples up to 30 lbs.
