Graphic Designer

Role summary
Design and produce print and digital communications products (including infographics, presentations, and event materials) for a federal communications office. Work includes brand-aligned creative development, production, and accessibility compliance.

Key responsibilities
Create graphic design and layout for print and digital media.
Create/design/edit PowerPoint presentations as needed.
Design press-kit materials and other print/digital documents.
Create infographics and visual explainers for announcements, press materials, and events.
Create graphics for trade shows, conferences, exhibits, and media events.
Create design assets for video production; develop animated content for web/social/video as needed.
Research and coordinate with stakeholders/subject-matter experts to ensure accuracy.
Ensure deliverables meet Section 508 requirements.
Use Adobe Creative Cloud and related tools; contribute to special projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a four-year college.
  • Five years of professional experience.
  • Experience with using Adobe Creative Cloud suite of products.
  • Experience with 508 compliance.
  • Provide 3-5 pieces of original work for review.
  • For senior designer, 5-7 years minimum.
  • Preferred- demonstrated competency in mentoring junior designers.
  • Expert level of experience with project / digital asset management software.
  • Strong conceptual thinking.
  • Ability to develop and incorporate cohesive design treatments to a suite of products.
  • Preferred- knowledge of motion graphics and video editing software.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $78,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
