Role Overview

We’re looking for a Graphic Designer / Digital Creative Consultant who can bring our mission to life visually.

This role goes beyond design execution, you will help translate complex health topics, community messaging, and campaign goals into clear, compelling, and culturally relevant creative.

You’ll work across the enterprise to create assets that drive engagement, build trust, and support community impact.

What You’ll Do

Creative Development

  • Design digital assets across channels:
  • Social media (static, carousel, short-form video support)
  • Email marketing (headers, templates, graphics)
  • Website visuals (banners, landing pages, article graphics)
  • Event materials (flyers, signage, presentations)
  • Translate campaign goals into visually engaging creative concepts
  • Maintain visual consistency across all brand touchpoints

Campaign & Marketing Support

  • Collaborate with marketing and other teams to execute campaigns
  • Design assets for:
  • Health awareness initiatives
  • Clinical trial education campaigns
  • Sponsored programs and partner activations
  • Contribute creative ideas during campaign planning

Brand & Visual Identity

  • Uphold and evolve BHM’s brand guidelines
  • Ensure culturally relevant, inclusive, and community-centered visuals
  • Adapt creative for different audiences and platforms

Production & Execution

  • Prepare final files for digital publishing and print when needed
  • Optimize designs for performance (mobile, email, web)
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

What We’re Looking For

Core Skills

  • 2–5+ years of experience in graphic design or digital creative roles
  • Strong portfolio showcasing digital marketing work
  • Proficiency in:
  • Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Canva (for rapid production workflows)
  • Asana (for Project Management)
  • Comfortable working in MS365 (Outlook & Teams)

Creative Strengths

  • Ability to simplify complex topics into clear visuals
  • Strong understanding of layout, typography, and hierarchy
  • Experience designing for engagement (not just aesthetics)
  • Experience working with AI and generative tools to assist in idea and copy development

Marketing Awareness

  • Understanding of how creative supports:
  • Social engagement
  • Email performance
  • Conversions and campaign goals
  • Experience working with marketing teams or campaigns

Nice to Have

  • Motion graphics or video editing (After Effects, Premiere)
  • Experience in healthcare, wellness, or mission-driven organizations
  • Familiarity with culturally relevant marketing for Black audiences

Compensation

(Customize based on your structure)

  • Competitive hourly rate $25-$35 USD per hr. (based on experience)

OR

  • By project rate

Person scope:

  • A portfolio is absolutely required
  • Must reside on east coast (eastern standard time)

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
