Graphic Designer

Our Company: Chauvin Arnoux, Inc. d/b/a AEMC Instruments: We are a well-established world-leader in test and measurement instrumentation. We design and manufacture professional electrical test and measurement instruments for the industrial, commercial and utility marketplace.

Our Marketing Team: We design the visual identity behind instruments that measure, monitor, and protect the electrical systems powering modern life — from data centers to rail networks to renewable energy installations. We are looking for a mid-level Graphic Designer to help us with our continuous growth and improvements. Our Marketing team is eight people strong, and we punch well above our weight. We design catalogs, trade show booths, product labels, websites, videos, application notes, and the occasional 3D-printed SWAG items across multiple product offerings and verticals.

What you'd be doing:

  • Designing and maintaining the visual assets that represent our brand — product catalogs, brochures, application notes, trade show graphics, digital ads, web graphics, and email campaigns.
  • Producing vector artwork for product labels and faceplates, and partnering with Production and Purchasing to get them print-ready.
  • Creating visual content for social media that supports the strategy set by our Communications Specialist — you make it look great, you both collaborate the calendar.
  • Occasional shooting and editing product and editorial photography that makes our instruments look as precise as they actually are. Typically needed when our Multimedia Production Specialist is unavailable.
  • Supporting our Multimedia Production Specialist on video projects when needed — designing motion graphics, title cards, lower thirds, and animated elements, and occasionally stepping in front of the camera when a project calls for a presenter or demonstrator.
  • Building and maintaining PowerPoint templates for sales and training purposes.
  • Partnering with Product Management, Sales, Tech Support and Technical Writing to translate technical subject matter into design that makes sense to humans.
  • Helping evolve our visual brand system over time — not just executing to spec, but helping raise the bar.

Who you are:

  • You have 3–5 years of professional graphic design experience, ideally with some exposure to B2B, manufacturing, or technical product work.
  • You are fluent in Adobe Creative Cloud — InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat.
  • You know your way around 4-color print production and you understand what happens between a PDF and a press.
  • Typography, layout, and visual hierarchy are things you genuinely care about — not afterthoughts.
  • You write and communicate clearly. You can explain design decisions, take direction well, and give useful feedback to peers.
  • You are organized, you meet deadlines, and you can hold multiple projects without dropping any of them.
  • You take ownership of the work, and you have a real sense of pride in the craft.
  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related field preferred — or you have a portfolio that makes the degree question irrelevant.

Nice to have (not required):

  • Experience using generative AI tools (Adobe Firefly, Midjourney, generative fill) thoughtfully in professional design workflows.
  • Strong product or editorial photography skills, including lighting.
  • Comfort in front of a camera — presenting, demonstrating, or hosting on occasion.
  • Large-format and trade show design experience.

Why AEMC:

  • A small, experienced Marketing team where your work gets seen, used, and actually matters — no being lost in a 200-person marketing org.
  • Real creative range. In a given month you might design a rail industry booth, a product label, a training presentation, and a product landing page.
  • The stability and engineering depth of a global parent organization, with the agility of a Dover, NH team.
  • A technical subject matter that, once you get into it, is genuinely fascinating — the instruments we market help keep the lights on.
  • Competitive compensation, benefits, and a supportive team culture that values craft, collaboration, and the occasional terrible pun.
