Graphic Designer

About Us

Embassy City is a multi-generational, multicultural, Spirit-led church committed to teaching God’s Word and leading people into authentic worship in a welcoming and safe community —where anyone can grow in Christ with others.

Our core values shape how we live and lead: Grace First, Rooted in Truth, Operate as Stewards, Work as One, Think Big, and Hold Joy.

The Opportunity

Embassy City is looking for a highly creative, detail-oriented Graphic Designer to help bring the heart, message, and mission of our church to life visually.

This role supports the Creative Director by creating strong, consistent design across sermon series, ministry events, social media, print materials, signage, merchandise, in-service screens, and other churchwide communications.

This is a hands-on role for a designer who can combine creativity with discipline, move quickly without getting sloppy, and create work that is beautiful, clear, and aligned with the mission of the church.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design & Production

  • Create high-quality graphics for sermon series, events, campaigns, social media, print materials, merchandise, signage, in-service screens, email, web, and other communication channels.
  • Prepare production-ready files for print, digital, screen, and vendor use.
  • Create templates and reusable design assets that improve consistency and efficiency.
  • Help organize and maintain design files, source files, project folders, and brand assets.

2. Brand Consistency

  • Help maintain a consistent Embassy City visual identity across ministries, platforms, and touchpoints.
  • Apply brand guidelines with good judgment, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Ensure creative work reflects Embassy City’s personality: caring, discerning, inventive, trustworthy, and joyful.
  • Identify visual inconsistencies and recommend stronger design solutions.

3. Creative Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Creative Director to understand project goals, creative direction, timelines, and priorities.
  • Collaborate with ministry teams (including lead pastor) to translate ideas, themes, and needs into compelling visual assets.
  • Participate in creative brainstorming for sermon series, churchwide campaigns, events, and special initiatives.
  • Receive feedback with humility and apply it quickly and thoughtfully.

This description is not all-inclusive, and other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Who You Are

  • You are highly creative, organized, and dependable.
  • You have strong visual taste and strong technical execution.
  • You care about typography, layout, hierarchy, spacing, color, and consistency.
  • You can move quickly while maintaining excellence.
  • You take feedback well and do not become defensive.
  • You bring ideas but do not need every idea to be yours.
  • You can support a leader’s vision while making the work better.
  • You can manage multiple projects and deadlines without losing clarity.
  • You care about the mission of the church, not just the look of the work.
  • You bring excellence without ego.

Desired Qualifications

Required:

  • 3+ years of professional graphic design experience.
  • Strong portfolio showing excellent design work across digital and print mediums.
  • Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Strong understanding of layout, typography, visual hierarchy, color, composition, and brand systems.
  • Experience preparing press-ready and production-ready files.
  • Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work on-site and support occasional evening, weekend, or special-event needs.

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a church, ministry, nonprofit, agency, or live-event environment.
  • Experience designing sermon series graphics, campaign identities, event promotions, social media content, signage, merchandise, or worship environment visuals.
  • Familiarity with motion graphics, video thumbnails, presentation graphics, or screen-based design.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Canva, Figma, ProPresenter, Planning Center, Microsoft Office, or similar platforms.
