GRAPHIC DESIGNER AT PLATINUM SIGNS AND DESIGN (CASSELBERRY, FL)

We are looking for a creative and detail-oriented Graphic Designer to join the energetic team at Platinum Signs and Design, LLC. This position is ideal for an individual who enjoys watching their digital designs transform into physical realities. In this role, you will do more than just aesthetic work; you will develop powerful branding that leaves a lasting impression on the local business community.

POSITION SUMMARY

At Platinum Signs, you will serve as the essential link between our production facility and the client's creative vision. Your responsibilities will cover a wide range of projects, including business stationery, apparel decoration, promotional items, large-scale architectural graphics, illuminated channel letters, and high-end vehicle wraps. You will aim to produce visually striking designs that meet the technical requirements for our installers, routers, and printers.

CORE DUTIES

• High-Impact Branding & Design: Develop compelling signage, including full vehicle wraps, ADA-compliant signage, pylon signs, and monument signs.
• Production-Ready Art: Turn design concepts into accurate, scaled vector graphics. Ensure correct color profiles, bleed areas, and cut lines for our manufacturing tools.
• Visualization & Client Proofs: Build lifelike photo-overlays to provide clients with a clear view of how their signage will appear on their vehicle or property, facilitating final project approval.
• Strategic Material Advice: Work with the production manager to choose suitable substrates, like ACM, vinyl, and acrylic. Maintain the high durability and quality standards linked to Platinum Signs.
• Site Data Assessment: Evaluate measurements and site photos to guarantee that all designs are correctly scaled and offer maximum visibility to the target audience.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Adobe Illustrator Mastery: This is our primary tool. You must be an expert in vector paths, layers, and file organization.
• Signage Intuition: An understanding of "readability"—knowing which fonts and color contrasts work best for someone driving 45mph, or even shopping at a local store.
• Problem Solvers: The ability to look at a complex installation and figure out how to design a sign that fits the space and the budget.
• Detail Obsession: At Platinum Signs, a 1-inch mistake can be a $1,000 error. You must be meticulous with measurements and spell-checking.
• File Storage: Strong organizational skills in managing and storing design files on server.

SOFTWARE & PRODUCTION SPECIALIZATION

In addition to design, the candidate must be proficient in the technical output of sign production. This role involves more than just layout; it requires "ripping" files for our specialized equipment.

• ONYX RIP Software: Experience with ONYX PosterShop or Thrive to manage print queues. Perform color correction and handle nesting to reduce material waste.
• Production Manager Workflow: Skilled in using FlexiSign Production Manager to send jobs to vinyl cutters. Also skilled in prepping jobs to large-format printers. Prepares files in Vectric VCarve/Aspire to route materials on CNC machines.
• Media Profiles: Ability to select the correct media profiles and quick sets for different substrates like 3M vinyl, acrylic, or aluminum.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years of experience in the sign industry or large-format print production.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, sign-specific software (like FlexiSign) and 3D rendering (Rhino or SketchUp) is a major plus.
• Strong communication skills to explain design choices to clients and technical specs to our fabricators.
