Graphic Designer - Junior

Job Summary
Smitten On Paper is a small, creative team seeking a full-time designer who loves stationery and invitation design and is excited to grow with our company. This position is best suited for a self-motivated individual with strong multitasking skills, a passion for creative design, and a keen eye for wedding trends. The ideal candidate will be confident designing within the Smitten On Paper aesthetic while bringing fresh creativity and attention to detail to every project. We are looking for someone who is friendly, highly organized, easygoing, and a collaborative team player. Applicants must be able to work full-time in our studio located in Blue Eye, Missouri.

Role Description

The Junior Graphic Designer is responsible for assisting with the design and proofing of custom wedding invitation orders while following brand guidelines and interpreting client needs. Daily responsibilities include updating existing invitation templates to meet client specifications, communicating with clients via phone and email, and ensuring production deadlines are met. This role includes a variety of hands-on tasks such as preparing files for print, sending files to pre-press, printing envelopes, assisting with order production, and collaborating with the Lead Designer on additional creative and production projects. The Junior Graphic Designer works closely under the direction of the Lead Designer and plays an important role in maintaining the quality and aesthetic of the Smitten On Paper brand.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of graphic design experience in print or digital media
• A solid creative portfolio that demonstrates experience conceptualizing and executing print design
• Strong knowledge of typography and graphics
• Understands and can identify current and future trends in the wedding industry
• Deep understanding of Adobe programs
• A collaborative attitude and willingness to be flexible and accommodating in this fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and project management skills with a strength in managing multiple deadlines
• Hard work ethic, desire to learn and grow
• Ambitious, outgoing, self-driven, and a joy to work with in a team environment
• Strong photography and retouching skills is a plus
• Experience with Flodesk, MailChimp, WordPress and/or Shopify is a plus
• Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design or equivalent
• Must be available to work full-time out of our Blue Eye, Missouri studio
