Royal Events is a fast-growing, national cheerleading company based in Louisville, Kentucky. We are dedicated to delivering high-energy events, quality apparel, and industry-leading customer service. We’re seeking a creative, detail-oriented team member who can bring our visual brand to life while also supporting merchandise production and event operations.

Position Summary

The Graphic Designer & Merchandise Coordinator is responsible for creating high-quality visual assets for our company and its events—ranging from logos and flyers to apparel and event merchandise. This role blends creative design with merchandise management, including ordering, inventory control, and event-based POS operations. Ideal candidates have strong graphic design skills, a passion for branding, and the ability to stay highly organized in a fast-paced event environment.

Key Responsibilities

Graphic Design & Creative Production

  • Design logos, branding assets, event graphics, and promotional materials.
  • Create digital marketing assets, including social media graphics, ads, event announcements, web banners, and email graphics.
  • Develop event merchandise designs such as graphic t-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts, shorts, and accessories.
  • Work collaboratively to maintain consistent branding across all platforms and products.
  • Prepare print-ready and production-ready files for apparel vendors and printers.
  • Assist with ideation, seasonal concepts, and new merchandise lines for cheer events.

Merchandise & Apparel Management

  • Oversee product development and ordering for event merchandise.
  • Source new vendors and maintain relationships with apparel and printing partners.
  • Track and manage inventory for apparel, accessories, and event retail items.
  • Ensure merchandise arrives on schedule and meets quality expectations.
  • Coordinate restocking, reorders, and inventory forecasting based on event schedules.

Event POS & On-Site Operations

  • Set up, manage, and operate the merchandise booth at cheerleading events.
  • Use and support the event’s POS system (Square or similar) for sales transactions.
  • Train seasonal or event-based staff on basic POS operations.
  • Assist in organizing merchandise displays and maintaining clean, attractive retail setups.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to attendees and families at events.

Qualifications Required

  • Strong proficiency in graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign; or similar).
  • Experience creating logos, branding assets, apparel graphics, and promotional materials.
  • Ability to create print-ready and merchandise-ready artwork.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work weekends or travel to cheer events as needed.

Preferred

  • Experience in merchandise design, apparel production, or retail branding.
  • Knowledge of Square POS or similar point-of-sale systems.
  • Familiarity with the cheerleading, dance, or youth sports industry is a plus.
  • Experience with inventory management or retail operations.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation:

  • $23.00 to $28.00/hour (based on experience and skills)
  • Potential bonus based on job performance and company performance
  • Bonus potential on reaching merchandise sales goals

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
