CCI Productions is a 25,000 SF large format printing, design, finishing, fabrication, and installation facility equipped for delivering speed and accuracy. We are currently seeking a Graphic Designer/Prepress Specialist to fill an opening in our Art Department. Our Art Department is responsible for assisting clients with their graphic design needs, providing quick and efficient file set-up for large format printing of signage and graphics. Good knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign are a must, as you will be exercising lots creativity, as well as applying technical skills for file setup. We also provide concise proofs and visual aids to fully demonstrate what each client is ordering and location of graphics with mockups. We get to work with a variety of clients on a wide range of projects, which results in seeing your work in large-format print all over the city!
Responsibilities:
- Bring ideas to life with designs that accurately represent a brand's message, setting and application
- Maintain professionalism and proper communication with team members and on occasion, clients
- Collaborate internally, as well as with other departments to prioritize jobs, trouble shoot, brainstorm solutions, and execute installation plans
- Prepare, review, and/or edit digital files to ensure they are print-ready and compatible with printing methods and equipment
- Apply color management and calibration techniques for accurate color reproduction
- Add necessary needs for printing and finishing machines (e.g. bleed, cutlines, registration marks, etc.)
- Ensure accurate file formatting, sizing, quantities, and layout
- Provide concise proofs, mockups and contact sheets to fully demonstrate what is being produced
- Create templates for accuracy or for unique applications
- Troubleshoot any technical issues or errors that may arise during the prepress or printing process.
- Maintain file database with proper organization, file updates and archiving
- Additional duties may include producing CCI marketing items or branding material, and attending the occasional site survey to collect photos and accurate measurements
The Ideal Candidate:
- Possesses a combination of technical, creative, and problem-solving skills, as well as a sharp eye for detail
- Has knowledge of graphic design, typography, and layout principles and practices
- Is Mac proficient with exceptional working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign
- Has the ability to work with different file types, formats, and standards such as PDF, EPS, TIFF, CMYK, and Pantone Matching system
- Is able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while communicating effectively with clients, designers and printers
- Tolerates change and frequent shifts in direction well
- Willingness to adapt and learn our pre-press processes
- Is an independent worker and self-starter
- Has Impeccable attention to detail
- Takes pride and ownership of their work
- Possesses a positive attitude and is a team player while working with various project managers
- Can self prioritize and manages time well
- Will work occasional overtime as work dictates due to events and client needs
- Has experience with digital printing, signage and/or large format graphics is a plus.
