About the Role
We’re seeking a talented Graphic Designer with deep expertise in both print and digital media. You’ll be responsible for creating compelling designs, preparing artwork for production, configuring print jobs (including imposition and press settings), and accurately estimating costs. Your work will drive brand impact across brochures, business cards, banners, web graphics, social media assets, and more.
Key Responsibilities
- Concept & Design
- Develop original design concepts for print collateral (brochures, business cards, posters, labels, packaging) and digital assets (website banners, social media graphics, email templates).
- Translate marketing briefs into visually engaging materials that align with brand guidelines.
- Pre-Press & Print Production
- Prepare and proof all artwork for print: set up bleed, trim, folds, and color profiles (CMYK, Pantone).
- Handle imposition layouts to optimize sheet usage and minimize waste.
- Configure press settings for different printing processes (offset, digital, UV, wide-format).
- Optimize files (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) to meet technical specifications of various printers.
- Liaise with print vendors to confirm specs, paper stocks, finishes (lamination, spot UV, embossing), and turnaround times.
- Rate Calculation & Estimation
- Analyze job requirements to calculate accurate print quotations, factoring in materials, machine time, labor, finishing, and shipping.
- Maintain rate cards and update pricing models based on volume breaks, equipment utilization, and market trends.
- Collaborate with sales and project management teams to vet estimates and ensure profitability.
- Project Coordination
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and budget constraints are met.
- Communicate status updates and revisions to stakeholders; prepare digital proofs and gather sign-offs.
- Track artwork versions, maintain organized file structures, and archive completed projects.
- Quality Control & Troubleshooting
- Perform quality checks on proofs and finished prints to verify color accuracy, registration, and finishing details.
- Identify and solve issues related to file resolutions, color separations, imposition errors, and press settings.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years’ hands-on experience in a print-focused design environment, with proven digital media production skills.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop. Experience with pre-press tools (e.g., Acrobat Preflight).
- In-depth knowledge of printing processes (offset, digital, large-format), paper stocks, inks, finishing techniques, and imposition workflows.
- Strong understanding of color theory, color management workflows (ICC profiles), and proofing methods.
- Demonstrated ability to perform cost estimation and rate calculation for print jobs, including volume pricing and margin analysis.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Note: A formal degree is a plus but not required—your practical experience and mastery of print settings and imposition carry more weight.
Preferred Skills & Attributes
- Experience working in an agency or print-shop environment.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to explain technical print requirements to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proactive problem-solver who stays current on industry trends, new printing technologies, and materials.
- Ability to mentor junior designers and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary and benefits package.
- Dynamic work environment with opportunities to lead high-impact print and digital projects.
- Professional development and training programs.
- Collaborative culture that values creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement.
