Graphic Designer (Print & Digital) – Gainesville, FL (On-Site Government Role)

Job Summary

The Alachua County Property Appraiser’s Office is seeking a Graphic Designer to develop clear, professional, and accessible visual communications that support public education, outreach, and internal operations.

This role focuses on print and communication design, including brochures, signage, presentations, and digital graphics. The position plays a key role in helping residents understand property assessments, exemptions, and services through effective visual communication.

This is a full-time, on-site position in Gainesville, Florida.

What You’ll Do

  • Design brochures, flyers, posters, signage, and presentations
  • Create graphics for social media, email campaigns, and internal communications
  • Maintain consistent branding across all materials
  • Prepare print-ready files and coordinate with vendors
  • Design and manage email communications (e.g., Mailchimp)
  • Collaborate with internal teams on outreach and communication initiatives
  • Ensure all materials meet ADA accessibility standards

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Communications, Marketing, or related field OR 3+ years of equivalent experience
  • Experience in graphic design or visual communications
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Experience preparing files for print production
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and communication skills

Preferred

  • Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp)
  • Experience working in government or public-sector communications
  • Basic photography or visual content capture experience
  • Experience designing accessible (ADA-compliant) materials

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work full-time, on-site in Gainesville, FL (this position is not remote or hybrid)
  • Willingness to occasionally work evenings or weekends for events
  • Ability to lift/carry materials up to approximately 25–50 lbs
