Graphic Designer / Production Artist

About us

Austin’s is a national screen-printing and embroidery brand based on Cape Cod. We wholesale embroidered and screen-printed garments to tourist-targeted shops around the country and the Caribbean.

Overview

We are currently seeking new members to add to our (currently four-person) in-house art team. The position is in-office, and full time. We are not offering remote work at this time.

This position will be responsible for preparing artwork for screen printing and/or embroidery. Experience with Wilcom Embroidery Studio software (or other embroidery digitizing software) would be a huge plus. We use Adobe Creative Suite to prepare art proofs for customer approvals and preparing designs for screen printing.

Duties

• Preparing new customer-provided artwork for stitching or prepress.
• Alter existing designs to meet new customer needs.
• Create design mock ups to be sent to customers.
• Communicate with customers and sales reps to get art approvals.
• Communicate with our production department to make sure designs are executed as intended.
• Maintain organized records of all digital files, revisions, and project documentation for easy retrieval and quality control .
• Develop new design concepts for prospective customers.

Experience & Skills

• Typography
• Adobe Creative Suite (primarily Illustrator) - 5+ years
• Screen printing industry experience - 3+ years
• Wilcom Embroidery Studio (or other digitizing software) (or be willing to learn)
• Solid art foundation
• Illustration
• Communication
• Any Web Design / Coding skills would be a plus, but are not required.
• Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

We are hoping to find someone experienced in screen printing and embroidery, but we may be willing to train the right talented individual. Pay offering may be adjusted based on experience.

Examples of general design and typography are also appreciated. If you have embroidery experience, please provide examples of that as well.
