Graphic Designer / Production Artist

Job Overview
LimeLight Communications, a well-established publishing company in the greater Peoria area, is expanding and seeking a part-time graphic designer to join our team. This position will be perfect for someone who enjoys being part of a small enthusiastic team and takes pride in their creative projects. With seven local publications, we work primarily in print with magazines and newspapers, but we have occasional work in digital/web. In addition to the monthly publications, we also help our customers with brochures, business cards, promotional imprinted items, banners, and much more.

This part-time position will start out working with newspaper and magazine layouts, ad design, and other creative projects. Part-time hours are currently available, with the possibility of expanding into full-time in the future. Applicants must be able to work as a team player, with the ability to work on more than one project at a time and be able to switch directions quickly as the deadlines and workload dictates. We are a small family-owned business that enjoys working with local businesses and developing long-term relationships.

Duties

• Design and produce print materials of all kinds, including some digital materials
• Must be able to manage and optimize workload, prioritize multiple projects, and streamline the production flow
• Prepare files for print and coordinate with management or vendors on setting up the files correctly
• Maintain organized graphics and digital photo libraries
• Assist with website content updates
• Re-touch or adjust photos as needed

Skills

• Previous graphic design experience is required
• Knowledge and experience in the ADOBE Suite, primarily InDesign, PhotoShop, Illustrator, and Acrobat
• Experience in publication layout and file preparation
• Strong computer and internet skills
• Experience working in a Mac-based work environment
• Neat, clean, and professional appearance
• Be able to juggle multiple projects at a time and be a problem solver as last-minute changes are presented.
