Position Overview
We're looking to add a
social-obsessed, social-editing-first graphic designer
to our social media team; someone with a strong typographic sensibility, a sharp eye for detail, and a culture-driven aesthetic. This role requires deep proficiency across Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, with particular strength in short-form video, motion graphics, and social-first content creation. The ideal candidate understands the technical nuances of designing for social platforms (from formats and specs to video optimization) and brings a genuine passion for internet culture and visual storytelling. You'll thrive in a fast-paced environment, confidently managing multiple projects while maintaining exceptional quality and meeting deadlines. As a collaborative self-starter, you'll help evolve social creative standards and processes, contribute to impactful owned social moments, and actively participate in a feedback-driven culture focused on growth and continuous improvement.
This role reports directly into the Director of Social.
Key Responsibilities
Photo & Video Editing

Edit, retouch, and finalize high-volume social content across platforms, owning the full editing pipeline from first draft through final delivery

Work with team to capture net-new content for TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube within a daily, multi-post publishing cadence

Optimize content per platform, refining formats, hooks, pacing, and visuals to support performance goals

Efficiently manage large volumes of assets with strong organization, version control, and file management systems
Social Creative Direction

Design on-brand graphics and visual assets that remain consistent across campaigns and product launches

Build templates and reusable design systems to streamline production and support the broader social team

Develop moodboards for campaigns and launches, maintaining a cohesive and elevated visual identity

Capture and support behind-the-scenes content during campaign and product shoots
Content Strategy & Execution

Partner closely with the Social Media Director to execute content strategies aligned with brand and growth goals

Adjust creative direction based on performance data and analytics

Continuously test new formats, concepts, and hooks to identify emerging algorithm best practices

Knowledge of and desire to leverage new technologies, including practices in AI

Act as a bridge between creative and social teams, ensuring alignment across visuals, messaging, and campaigns
Paid Social & Retail Creative

Lead creative execution of paid social assets, with a focus on video optimized for platform algorithms

Produce multiple versions and sizes of paid assets, managing revisions for both owned channels and retail partners

Produce media packs for retailers on a monthly basis to support their internal needs

Support creative direction and concept development for external paid creators
Fast-Paced Production & Turnarounds

Meet daily deadlines by quickly editing, and delivering high-quality content

Adapt to real-time feedback and shifting priorities, managing multiple revision rounds across stakeholders
What we are looking for

Strong typographic sensibility with a keen eye for detail and consistency across a variety of visual assets

Understands the technical aspects of designing content for social (video optimization, formats, specs)

A sharp aesthetic sensibility with a deep passion for culture, the internet and creation

A strong ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks while ensuring high standards of quality and on-time delivery

A self-starter who is willing and able to build and continuously improve upon our creative standards and processes

A track record of partnering with creative teams to help create owned social-first moments

Open to giving and receiving feedback as part of a culture of growth and learning
Qualifications

4-6+ years professional digital design or content creation experience within a startup to mid-size beauty brand

Portfolio of content creation and curation to show breadth of work within social media specifically for prior brands is a must

Highly proficient in Figma and core Adobe programs including, but not limited to, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects or Premier Pro

Highly proficient in short-form video editing and effects as well as motions graphics

BA/BFA in Graphic Design or Communication Design is a plus

Ability to travel occasionally as needed for shoots and campaigns
