Graphic Design/Web and Social Media Internship

Do you have a passion for bold design, brand storytelling, and creating visually stunning content that lives across digital platforms? The Colossal Team is looking for an imaginative, proactive Graphic Design Intern with Web and Social Media Expertise to help shape our visual presence across multiple platforms.

This internship is designed for students, new graduates, or emerging creatives looking to build their portfolio while working on real projects involving branding, digital campaigns, educational resources, and entertainment media for children and adults.

This is a internship. Interns receive portfolio credit, mentorship, training, potential school credit, and strong letters of recommendation. Priority consideration will be given for future freelance and paid positions.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Graphic Design & Branding

  • Design marketing materials such as flyers, banners, thumbnails, posters, merch mockups, and signage for Colossal Museum, the Kidzeum, and creative events.
  • Create social media visuals for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn that reflect brand identity and voice.
  • Design covers, headers, highlight icons, story templates, and motion graphics.

Web Design & Digital Assets

  • Assist with layout and visual design for Colossal’s websites, landing pages, and digital hubs using WordPress.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to update visual assets across Colossal’s digital ecosystem.
  • Help develop a consistent visual brand across platforms, including our Podcast, Bar, Event Space, Kidzeum features, museum installations, and Kolossal Kravings (Ice Cream/Slushy shop).

Social Media Design Integration

  • Design graphics for reels, carousels, highlight covers, promotional campaigns, and digital products.
  • Collaborate with videographers and editors to convert visuals into post-ready social formats.
  • Maintain brand templates and suggest creative content approaches that visually engage users.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Web Design, Digital Media Marketing or Advertising, UX/UI Design, Related creative or media field.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or Figma.
  • Understanding of web layout tools or builders (Squarespace, WordPress).
  • Awareness of social media design trends, visual engagement, and mobile-friendly formats.
  • Ability to follow brand guidelines while bringing fresh, creative perspectives.
  • Basic motion graphics or video editing experience is a plus.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $2.00 - $7.00 per hour
