St. Ambrose University is seeking a talented and motivated Graphic Designer to support the creative and strategic design needs of both St. Ambrose University and Mount Mercy University. This is an exciting opportunity for a designer who’s ready to grow; someone who loves bringing ideas to life, exploring new design trends, and using creativity to tell meaningful stories. You’ll work in a collaborative, mission-driven environment where design, strategy, and purpose meet. This position could be worked in Davenport, IA or Cedar Rapids, IA (In-Person).

What you'll do

• Design and produce engaging visual content for print and digital media, including ads, publications, signage, web assets, and social media.
• Collaborate with marketing strategists, writers, and fellow creatives to develop brand-aligned concepts that inspire action and belonging.
• Maintain brand consistency across both universities’ creative materials.
• Support campaign development, production workflows, and vendor coordination.
• Stay current on design trends, accessibility standards, and creative technologies — including AI and motion design tools.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Communications, or related field (or in progress).
• 2–4 years of professional or internship experience in graphic design or related creative work.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects).
• Strong sense of layout, typography, color, and visual storytelling.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Familiarity with Figma, HTML5, or motion design tools is a plus.
