We are looking for a Freelance Website Graphic Designer to join our growing team. Website Graphic Designers at Bellweather will collaborate with our creative and digital teams to deliver innovative, high-impact, user-focused website and digital experiences that align with strategic goals, and brand standards.

This position sits on the Creative team but is a dual report position. This position reports directly to the Creative Services Manager and the Digital Director. This is not a UX-focused position.

This position is remote and must be able to accommodate East Coast hours. We offer pay based on experience: under 2 years junior; 2-5 years mid level; 5+ senior.

This position is a 6-month contract (minimum 30 hours per week) with options to extend or full-time hire.

Pay will be $40-$50 per hour based on experience.

About the role

Responsibilities

Job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Ideate and Create: (50%)

  • Creative Development: Translate wireframes from UX/UI Designers into stunning visuals for web
  • Strategic Design: Ensure all designs support client objectives and overall digital strategy.
  • Visual Direction: Guide digital design execution across teams, including copywriters, developers, and UX designers.
  • Review & QA: Approve layouts, visual components, and interactive elements to ensure pixel-perfect, brand-aligned design quality.
  • File Prep & Organization: Deliver final web-ready assets, clearly labeled and organized for developer hand-off and asset management.

Scale: (40%)

  • Process Adherence: Ensure the digital design process runs smoothly from receiving initial wireframes, to conceptual mockups, through final hand-off. Alerts team members of missing information or steps in process.
  • Cross-Platform Consistency: Ensure responsive design across devices and maintain consistency in UI/UX across various platforms.
  • Time Management: Keep projects on schedule and within scope while meeting all digital deliverable requirements.
  • Media Collaboration: Work with production manager to integrate assets seamlessly into digital designs.

Collaboration and Communication: (10%)

  • Client Interaction: Attend client meetings and presentations (when necessary) to explain digital design decisions and incorporate feedback effectively, alongside Digital Director.
  • Team Collaboration: Partner with digital team and creative leadership to ensure a cohesive and functional digital experience.
  • Feedback Integration: Refine designs based on internal and client feedback while maintaining design integrity.
  • Creative Communication: Relay creative direction from leadership to internal team members and external partners, when necessary.
About you

The ideal candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience designing for websites and digital platforms, preferably in an agency or freelance environment
  • Strong portfolio showcasing responsive website design, familiarity in UI/UX design, and digital branding
  • Proficient in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite
  • Proficient in ADA Compliance or Web Accessibility
  • Comfortable preparing assets for web development handoff (e.g., file optimization, naming conventions, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple digital projects
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Organized, remote-ready workspace that supports creativity and focus
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and effectively, and collaborate with clients, vendors, and team members.
