Graphic Designer/Formatter (Textbook Publishing)

We are seeking a skilled Graphic Designer/Formatter to assist with the layout, formatting, and visual presentation of educational textbook content. This role is responsible for transforming draft materials into polished, publication-ready pages that are visually engaging, organized, and easy for students and educators to use.

The ideal candidate has strong design instincts, excellent attention to detail, and experience working collaboratively in a production environment.

Responsibilities

· Format and design textbook content for print and/or digital publication

· Create clean, visually consistent layouts using company templates and style guidelines

· Incorporate graphics, charts, tables, and visual elements into textbook materials

· Collaborate with editors, writers, and other team members to ensure content accuracy and visual quality

· Make revisions and improvements based on peer and editorial feedback

· Ensure projects meet formatting standards, deadlines, and production requirements

· Maintain organization and consistency across multiple textbook projects

Qualifications

· Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)

· Experience with graphic design and page layout

· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

· Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with a team

· Ability to accept and implement constructive feedback

· Prior publishing, educational content, or print production experience preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field

Preferred Skills

· Experience formatting long-form documents or textbooks

· Familiarity with typography, visual hierarchy, and accessibility considerations

· Understanding of print-ready file preparation
