Graphic Designer/Web Designer

Computer graphics and web support to the Federal Aviation Administration, William J Hughes Technical Center for Advanced Aerospace in Egg Harbor Township, NJ.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of an Associate degree in Computer Graphic Design or Web Design
• 3 years of experience in the Graphic and Web design field (within the last 5 years)
• Proficient with Adobe CC, specifically Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop
• Web design a plus
• Photography skills a plus
• A strong design portfolio
• Must have experience in both Mac and PC platforms
• Basic proficiency in HTML, CSS, Wordpress and/or other web editors
• Technical terminology as it relates to aviation a plus
• Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines and work under pressure
• Strong organizational and time management skills

Responsibilities:

• Designs and produces highly creative and innovative graphic art for Federal Agency
• Ensures that all items are designed and produced in accordance with FAA branding standards.
• Collaborates and brainstorms with management and team members.
• Designs art and copy layouts for material to be presented at promotional events through visual communications media such as posters, handouts, banners and other materials.
• Prepares final art files for print, and reviews proofs and quality of final product before release.
• Plans content, graphic aspects, and presentation of materials.
• Determines size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, selects style and size of type, and arranges layout based upon available space, knowledge of layout principles, and esthetic design concepts.
• Builds engaging slide shows, logos, murals and produces custom illustrations.
• Designs user interface, print, and marketing materials to meet internal and external needs
• Scans, formats and organizes images for print and web.
• Designs and coordinate production of marketing collateral (including brochures, technical data sheets, trade show graphics and web materials).
• Design visual aspect of websites and digital media.
• Applies knowledge of design theory (typography, color, balance, scale, etc.) and tactics (storyboarding, wire-framing, prototyping) to create multimedia products
• Designs posters and builds exhibits using large format printers, laminators, mat cutters and Procut trimmers.
• Tracks, handles, and maintain records for project work orders.
• File management/archive

Candidate must be able to pass government background check.

8 hours (8 am – 4:30 pm) Monday to Friday on-site at the FAA William J Hughes Technical Center for Advanced Aerospace in Egg Harbor Township NJ

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $37.00 - $41.00 per hour
