Jarvis Sign Company is looking for an experienced, organized, and detail-oriented Graphic Sign Designer / Project Manager to join our team. This position combines project management, customer communication, and production-ready sign design for a wide variety of custom signage projects.
Our projects include large exterior signage, illuminated channel letters, monument signs, pylon signs, wall signs, LED retrofits, bank signage, retail branding packages, vehicle graphics, directional signage, custom fabricated signs, and multi-location rollouts throughout the Middle Tennessee area. Many projects involve permitting, landlord approvals, electrical coordination, scheduling, and collaboration between multiple departments.
The ideal candidate understands both the creative and production sides of the sign industry and can successfully manage projects from estimate and permitting through fabrication, installation, and final completion.
- Manage signage projects from estimate through final installation while ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.

Serve as the primary point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.

Communicate project updates, scheduling changes, approvals, and issue resolution in a professional and timely manner.

Design and prepare production-ready artwork, layouts, proofs, and sign packages for custom signage projects.

Create proofs and revisions based on customer feedback and project requirements.

Set up files for printing, routing, fabrication, and installation, including proper scaling, bleeds, cut paths, drill hole locations, and substrate sizing.

Coordinate with permitting, production, fabrication, electrical, and installation teams to ensure projects move smoothly through the workflow.

Review project specifications, site surveys, drawings, materials, and site conditions before production begins.

Coordinate permitting activities and understand local zoning requirements and sign ordinances.

Track project progress and maintain accurate job documentation, notes, approvals, and records.

Assist with rendering concepts, mockups, and customer presentations when needed.

Ensure production files are accurate and meet company standards before release to production.

Troubleshoot design, production, and field issues as they arise.

Help ensure completed projects meet both company and customer expectations.
- Previous experience in sign project management, sign design, graphic design, construction project management, or a related field preferred.

Sign industry experience is strongly preferred.

Strong understanding of exterior sign types including monument signs, pylon signs, cabinet signs, wall signs, channel letters, custom fabricated signage, vehicle graphics, and illuminated sign systems.

Experience designing for large-format printing, vinyl graphics, routing, fabrication, and illuminated signage.

Strong understanding of sign fabrication, production, and installation processes.

Experience reading drawings, site surveys, specifications, layouts, and production documents.
