Graphics PrePress Specialist

Position Summary:

The Graphics Pre-Press Specialist prepares digital files for print production, formats graphic layouts, adjusts color profiles, resolves technical issues to ensure high-quality printed materials, and communicates effectively and professionally with clients and Account Management.

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Performance will be evaluated based on fulfilling the responsibilities of the position in a timely, accurate, professional, and responsive manner.

Responsibilities

  • Provides accurate graphic layout and design to meet clients’ requirements. This includes scanning, file clean-up, typesetting, and producing layouts for client approval
  • Sustain knowledge of file setup requirements for a variety of printing and cutting equipment
  • Evaluate output and make process adjustments as necessary to obtain desired quality; troubleshoot flaws in print quality in cooperation with production team
  • Utilize project management software to communicate job status and prepare and process job tickets for production team
  • Maintain compliance with internal recordkeeping requirements, most specifically, accurately preparing timecards and material sheets on a daily basis

Requirements

  • Two years’ post-secondary education in graphic design or graphics/sign industry preferred. Experience working with large-format graphics is a plus
  • Demonstrated proficiency in use of graphics computer software with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of Pantone color systems
  • Demonstrated time management and self-management skills
  • Performs responsibilities efficiently and accurately under pressure and with strict deadlines
  • Be accurate and detail-oriented
  • Ability to retain client-specific project and brand knowledge
  • Demonstrates excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills
  • Exhibits a positive attitude with the ability to work effectively with a variety of people and personalities, and at all levels
  • Has strong initiative and is able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Is flexible and adaptable with the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, adjust to peak volume, and rush orders in a fast-paced environment
  • Be able to work overtime, and at times, with minimal notice

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
