Our services include Applications Development, Systems Modernization and Integration, Cloud Computing, DevSecOps, Data Analytics (including AI/ML/GenAI) and Infrastructure Optimization.

We are pursing IT contract opportunities with federal and state government and submitting proposals for RFP and RFI bids. The following requirement is contingent upon contract award from government/prime (February /March 2026 timeline).

About the Role:
We are looking for a part-time GraphQL Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a proposed modernization initiative focused on building secure, scalable GraphQL APIs using a federated architecture. This position is contingent on award of a 2026 project and would involve episodic consulting throughout the year.

The SME will assist with architectural decisions, tooling selection, governance models, and best practices related to schema management, federation, observability, and security.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise on architecture for federated GraphQL APIs (Hot Chocolate, Apollo Router, etc.)
• Recommend schema governance tools (e.g., GraphQL Hive, Apollo Studio, GraphQL Inspector)
• Guide CI/CD integration for schema validation and versioning
• Provide best practices on OAuth2/JWT integration and authorization models
• Consult on observability and traceability for GraphQL APIs
• Support occasional documentation and training sessions with engineering team

Required Skills & Experience:

• 8+ years in modern software engineering
• 3+ years of hands-on GraphQL experience (federation, schema design, tooling)
• Familiarity with .NET Core (C#), Hot Chocolate, or Apollo Gateway is preferred
• Experience with GitOps workflows, CI/CD integration, and containerized deployments
• Deep understanding of schema validation, migration, and governance practices
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• U.S. Citizen

Nice to Have:

• Exposure to federal systems or civic tech APIs
• Knowledge of OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, and observability tooling
• Familiarity with document publishing systems or structured data exchange

Compensation:
Competitive hourly rate (part-time, episodic availability aligned to project milestones).

Pay: $80.00 - $110.00 per hour
