South Seattle College is looking to hire a Part-time Greenhouse Coordinator in Hospitality.

Salary Range for this position is $21.09- $26.07 Hourly

As a Tasting Room Associate you will be responsible for being a key member of the team that serves in order to slay sales goals. In this role, you will serve and educate our students, staff and community about gardening and outdoor plant sales.

What you will be working on:

  • You'll work with your team to build inclusive, modern, flexible systems that serve students, ensuring access and assisting students in achieving course, program, and degree outcomes from recruitment to transition
  • Throughout your work you'll demonstrate cultural humility and intercultural engagement, including an awareness and understanding of historically disadvantaged populations, and create an educational environment that affirms commitment to equity and diversity
  • You'll engage in shared governance, including district-wide efforts to build an antiracist institution focused on action to advance access, retention, and success for our most marginalized and vulnerable students and employees
  • Work with LHO faculty to ensure that the required supplies and plant material is available for required classes.
  • Order required supplies and plant material as needed throughout the year.
  • Maintain an updated and current inventory of all outside plants including pricing and cost. This includes but is not limited to labeling, organizing, Clover Inventory and Excel Inventory.
  • As outside sales lead, ensure all customers are greeted when they enter the outside plant area and offer to answer any questions.
  • Coordinate LHO student interns work schedules and provide work activities as needed, in support of Faculty.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the greenhouse and outside plant area.
  • Communicate clearly with the retail operations manager and/or Faculty about any issues or needs that may arise.
  • Support changes and adapt to and in the working environment.
  • Provide excellent customer service!
  • Ensure all daily and weekly tasks are completed.
  • Exhibit proficiency in all workstations.

  • You are detail-oriented with experience consistently delivering high quality work products
  • You have demonstrated experience delivering error-free reports on a deadline
  • You have experience measuring outcomes and changing systems in response to data
