What You’ll Do (Summary of role)

Greenskeeper, under the supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent and or Assistant Superintendent, Equipment Manager, performs routine manual labor involved in golf course maintenance and set up, for daily play; does skilled grounds construction and maintenance work; operate all types of mowers and equipment used in grooming and preparing the golf course on a daily basis. This may include small hand-powered equipment. He or she does related work as required.


Day to Day Responsibilities (Limit to most important/top 10 duties if possible)


  • Utilizes all manner of hand equipment such as; shovels, string trimmers, push mowers, edgers, hand rakes, blowers, etc
  • Operate self-propelled machinery such as; bunker rakes, triplex mowers, deckmowers, aerators, sod cutters, and others as directed.
  • Performs daily set up procedures such as; setting tee markers, filling water coolers, and changing and repairing cups on greens daily, maintains ball washers, remove debris, sand tee & fairway divots, maintains flower beds, etc
  • Maintains fuel and fluid levels for equipment on a daily basis, report equipment problems or failures to Equipment Manager immediately.
  • Cleans and properly stores equipment after each use.
  • Under direct supervision of a certified applicator, sprays chemicals using hand operated sprayers.
  • Help in project work including drainage, irrigation, construction, repair, and naturalized habitat protection.

What We’re Looking For


Must Haves: (required for the role)

  • Ability to learn golf course set up for daily play
  • Must have the ability to utilize all manner of hand equipment and self propelled machinery within the scope of golf maintenance.
  • Louisiana Driver’s License
  • Must demonstrate the willingness and ability to retain instructions on the use of equipment, tools, and materials used in golf course construction, maintenance and landscape.
  • Ability to work every other weekend
  • Transportation that can get you to work for the start of the shift (currently 5am)


Nice-to-Haves: (preferred for the role)

  • Leadership attitude

  • Knowledge in usage of small equipment
  • Prior experience in landscaping or commercial mowing


Physical Requirements: (Add per list provided based on role type)

  • Prolonged standing, walking, and climbing of stairs or ladders
  • Frequent bending, crouching, twisting, and reaching.
  • Manual dexterity to operate machinery or handle tools.
  • Frequent use of vision and hearing to assess surroundings and job tasks.
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • Potential exposure to environmental hazards such as dust, chemicals, or loud noise.
