Department: Golf Course Maintenance
Reports To: Golf Course Assistant Superintendents
Working Hours: Friday, Saturday & Sunday & Monday
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)
Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
JOB SUMMARY
The Greensperson is responsible for the maintenance, grooming, and overall care of the golf course greens, fairways, roughs, and other landscaped areas to ensure they are in pristine condition for members and guests. This position involves working as part of a team to meet high standards of course playability and aesthetics.
Requirements:
Golf Course Maintenance

Mow, water, aerate, fertilize, and edge greens, tees, fairways, and roughs using specialized equipment.

Maintain bunkers by raking, edging, and ensuring proper sand depth.

Monitor turf health, including identifying and treating pests, weeds, and diseases
Irrigation
-
Operate and maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper water distribution.

Repair broken irrigation lines and heads as necessary.

Monitor soil moisture levels and report any issues to supervisors.
Equipment Operation and Maintenance

Safely operate mowers, trimmers, aerators, and other equipment as required.

Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of tools and machinery.
Landscape and Grounds keeping

Plant, prune, and care for trees, shrubs, and flowers throughout the property.

Remove debris, leaves, and litter to maintain cleanliness and presentation.
Course Setup

Change hole locations and move tee markers based on daily schedules or tournament requirements.

Install and repair course signage, boundary markers, and hazard stakes.
Safety and Compliance

Follow all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Adhere to environmental regulations and best practices for chemical applications.
Other Duties

Assist with seasonal tasks such as snow removal, overseeding, or aerification.

Support special events, tournaments, or other club functions requiring grounds preparation.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience in golf course maintenance or grounds keeping preferred.

Knowledge of turf management, irrigation systems, and basic landscaping techniques.
Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of standing.
-
Work is primarily outdoors and may involve exposure to sun, rain, wind, and extreme temperatures.

Exposure to various chemical fumes and noise.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
