The Grill Maker is responsible for preparing, grilling, and presenting food items according to the restaurant’s standards. The role requires consistency in taste, portion control, hygiene, and timely service while maintaining a clean and safe grill station.

Key ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation & Cooking

  • Prepare and grill items such as meats, chicken, seafood, vegetables, sandwiches, and kebabs as per recipes.
  • Ensure correct marination, seasoning, and cooking temperatures.
  • Maintain consistency in taste, texture, and presentation.
  • Monitor grill timing to avoid overcooking or undercooking.
  • Prepare mise en place before service hours.

Quality & Hygiene

  • Follow food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP or local food safety rules).
  • Maintain cleanliness of grill station, utensils, and equipment.
  • Ensure proper storage of raw and cooked food items.
  • Check freshness and quality of ingredients before use.

Equipment & Station Management

  • Operate and maintain grill equipment safely.
  • Report equipment issues or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
  • Ensure proper gas, charcoal, or electric grill usage.
  • Clean grill and exhaust systems as per schedule.

Inventory & Cost Control

  • Assist in monitoring stock levels of grill items and ingredients.
  • Minimize food wastage and follow portion control guidelines.
  • Inform supervisor of low stock or spoilage.

Teamwork & Service Support

  • Coordinate with kitchen team and service staff during peak hours.
  • Follow instructions from Head Chef or Supervisor.
  • Support other kitchen sections when required.
  • Maintain a professional attitude under pressure.

Skills & Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Grill Maker or Grill Cook.
  • Knowledge of grilling techniques and temperature control.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physically fit to stand for long hours.
  • Team player with good communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Culinary training or kitchen certification (optional).
  • Experience in Arabic grill, Western grill, or mixed cuisine (specify if needed).
  • HACCP certification (added advantage).

Working Conditions

  • Shift-based work, including weekends and holidays.
  • Exposure to heat, smoke, and kitchen equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED1,500.00 - AED2,000.00 per month
