Position Summary
The Grill Cook is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality grilled and casual poolside menu items in a fast-paced outdoor environment during the summer season. This role ensures food quality, cleanliness, safety, and excellent guest service while maintaining efficient grill station operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items including burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, chicken, seafood, and other grilled specialties.
- Set up, stock, and maintain outdoor grill and prep stations before, during, and after service.
- Ensure all food is prepared according to company recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Monitor food temperatures and maintain proper food safety and sanitation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of grill area, kitchen equipment, utensils, and storage areas.
- Replenish inventory and communicate supply needs to kitchen management.
- Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries properly.
- Work closely with poolside servers and management to ensure timely guest service.
- Follow all health department regulations and company policies.
- Handle high-volume service periods efficiently and professionally.
- Assist with opening and closing duties for the pool grill operation.
- Support special outdoor events, banquets, and summer functions as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous grill, line cook, or outdoor cooking experience preferred.
- Knowledge of basic food preparation and sanitation procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced outdoor environment and in varying weather conditions.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged standing and walking.
- Ability to work near heat and open flames.
- Frequent lifting, bending, and carrying supplies.
- Comfortable working outdoors during summer temperatures.
