A GRMS Engineer is responsible for the installation, wiring, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of the Guest Room Management System in hotel projects. The engineer ensures that all guest room automation works properly, such as lighting control, AC/thermostat control, curtain control, DND/MUR system, occupancy sensing, and energy saving functions, including integration with BMS and PMS if required.
Main Responsibilities
- Study GRMS drawings, shop drawings, and specifications.
- Coordinate with site team, consultant, and main contractor.
- Supervise installation of GRMS panels, controllers, and field devices.
- Check wiring termination for:
- Lighting relays/dimmers
- Thermostat/FCU
- Curtain motors
- DND/MUR panel
- Door contact / PIR sensors
- Key card switch / occupancy sensors
- Perform testing & commissioning for each room.
- Configure room logic (welcome, night, all off, energy saving).
- Troubleshoot issues such as:
- Room offline
- Communication faults (RS485 / IP)
- Thermostat not responding
- Lights or curtains not working
- Support integration with:
- BMS (BACnet/Modbus)
- PMS (hotel system)
- Prepare commissioning reports and handover documents.
