Government Relation Officer (GRO) Role Overview

The Government Relation Officer (GRO) at ABIS is responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's relationship with government bodies and authorities. This role entails liaising with relevant government agencies, ensuring compliance with governmental regulations, and facilitating the smooth processing of governmental communications and documentation required for the company's operations.

The GRO plays a key role in securing necessary permits, approvals, and licenses, while also staying updated on changes in laws and regulations that may impact the organization. This position involves coordinating with various internal departments and external government entities to resolve issues, promote positive relations, and support business activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary point of contact between the company and government agencies.
  • Manage applications and follow-up for permits, licenses, and other official documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with governmental rules, laws, and regulations relevant to company operations.
  • Monitor and communicate updates on government policies that could impact the organization.
  • Coordinate and facilitate governmental inspections or audits as required.
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with government officials and agencies.
  • Support management in addressing governmental inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Prepare and submit timely reports related to government relations activities.
  • Collaborate internally to ensure company practices align with governmental requirements.

Requirements
  • ARAMCO / SABIC Experience required as GRO for Shutdown / turnaround or Projects .
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Business Administration, Law, Political Science, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in government relations or similar roles, preferably within the Oil & Gas sector.
  • Strong knowledge of governmental regulations and procedures in Saudi Arabia.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with government entities.
  • Proficiency in Arabic and English, both written and spoken.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
