Grocery Stock Steward

Objective:

Under general supervision, performs a variety of duties including stocking items, rotating items and checking dates, organizing products, cleaning shelves and ensuring all merchandise is presented neatly. Assists customers in finding items and answering questions about grocery products. Answering phones customers call and ask questions. Provides recommendations per customer specifications. Essential Functions:

· Exceptional customer service, assisting customers is priority

· Ability to read and explain labels, as well as differentiate the products we offer from their conventional counterparts

· Ability to create and maintain visual merchandising of product

· Receive product

· Stock and rotate products

· Have a basic understanding of PLU labeling system

· Maintain shopper and register supplies at checkout stands and stations

· Perform miscellaneous job-related duties/Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands:

The employee must have the ability to: speak and hear, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach with their hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must have the ability to stand for prolonged periods where wet processes are used, wear protective footwear and work in extreme temperatures. The employee must have the ability to frequently lift and move up to 75 lbs.

Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position; nights and weekends are required.

Education and Experience:

Previous grocery stock experience – preferred
