Grounds Crew

Position Summary

The Grounds Staffer participates in daily maintenance duties of the golf course and club grounds areas. Safely operates power equipment associated with maintenance tasks. Assists with debris clean up, garden maintenance, landscape, drainage, and irrigation projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Operate mowers and trimming equipment to maintain greens, approaches, tees, lawns, and general rough grass on the golf course.
Rake and maintain sand bunkers and cart paths. Clean debris from the golf course, including leaves, sticks and trash.
Perform general clean-up of roads, walkways, parking areas and maintenance building areas.
Move, replace, and occasionally maintain cart control barriers such as signs, blocks and rope. Move, replace and occasionally maintain golf course hazard stakes, and other golf course supplies such as pins, cups, benches, ball-washers, water cookers and tee markers.
Assist with golf course renovation and construction projects, such as sodding, seeding, aerating, topdressing, soil preparation, and new greens, tees and fairways.
Plant, water, and perform general maintenance associated with ornamental plants.
Assist in digging and backfilling for drainage trenches and irrigation repairs.
Perform other grounds maintenance duties as directed by the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Valid Driver’s License

Skills & Competencies

Knowledge of the safe and efficient mechanical operation of motorized maintenance equipment.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

Must be able to reach, bend, stoop, stand and lift 50 pounds.
Frequent lifting, bending, climbing, stooping, and pulling.
Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.
Moderate noise level in the work environment.
Ability to meet and perform the physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position.
