Grounds Crew Member

Overview

Timber Source Professional Tree Service is looking for a driven and dependable Grounds Crew Member to support professional tree care and removal operations. This is not a basic landscaping role—this position is at the core of fast-paced, high-skill tree work where precision, awareness, and teamwork matter every day. You’ll work alongside climbers and equipment operators to keep jobs running safely and efficiently, while gaining hands-on experience with rigging systems, heavy equipment, and advanced tree care practices.

What You'll Do

Jobsite Support & Tree Operations

• Support climbers during pruning and removal operations through rope handling, communication, and jobsite awareness
• Manage drop zones and assist in safely lowering limbs and wood
• Operate chainsaws and ground equipment to process brush, logs, and debris
• Feed brush into chippers and maintain clean, organized work zones
• Set up and maintain safety measures including cones, signage, and property protection

Equipment & Material Handling

• Operate skid steers, mini-skids, and grapple attachments to move logs and debris
• Assist with loading, unloading, and staging equipment and materials
• Perform routine care of tools and equipment, including fueling and basic upkeep

Grounds & Property Care

• Maintain client properties with attention to detail, minimizing impact during tree work
• Assist with basic pruning, trimming, and cleanup of landscape areas affected by operations
• Support seasonal work as needed, including storm response or property clearing

Teamwork & Safety

• Work as part of a coordinated crew where communication and timing are critical
• Stay alert in active work zones with overhead hazards and heavy equipment
• Follow all company safety procedures and consistently use required PPE
• Take direction, learn quickly, and contribute to a strong team environment

What You Bring

• Experience with chainsaws or willingness to learn quickly
• Comfort working around heavy equipment and active job sites
• Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
• Ability to lift 75–100 lbs and perform physically demanding outdoor work
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive, coachable attitude

Preferred (Not Required)

• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or ability/willingness to obtain one
• Experience with skid steers or mini-skids
• Background in tree care, landscaping, or construction
• Familiarity with ropes, rigging, or equipment operation
• Interest in advancing into climbing or equipment operation roles

Compensation

• Pay: $25.00 – $45.00 per hour (based on experience)
