PURPOSE OF CLASSIFICATION
The purpose of this classification is to perform unskilled to semi-skilled manual work functions associated with light equipment repair, maintenance, landscaping, and grounds keeping of city drainage systems, parks, lawns, right of way, and recreation facilities.
Work Functions
- Operate various equipment associated with city functions as assigned in order to maintain city drainage systems, right-of-way areas, parks, facilities, grounds areas and waste-water plant.
- Perform manual tasks associated with landscaping, grounds keeping, and maintenance of city facilities.
- Assist in setting up special events; and supervise traffic control and litter/debris pickup.
- Responds to emergency calls during inclement weather events.
- Performs general maintenance tasks as necessary to keep machinery, equipment, and tools in operable condition.
- Maintains maintenance records, logs, time sheets, work orders, and other documentation.
- Assists with documentation and operation of the city wastewater treatment facility.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in the area of assignment such as equipment maintenance, landscaping, or any other relevent experience that provides requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Driver's License.
- Must be able to obtain IMSA Work Zone Safety Certification.
