Grounds Keeper and Light Maintenance

Job Summary:

The Grounds Keeper and Light Maintenance Worker is responsible for the upkeep of the property’s exterior and some interior areas, ensuring they remain attractive, clean, and safe. This role involves a variety of tasks including landscaping, minor repairs, and general grounds keeping duties.

Key Responsibilities:

• Edge and trim green spaces use leaf blower on astroturf use weed killer on all problem areas.
• Plant and/or maintain flower beds, shrubs, and trees.
• Water, fertilize, and mulch as needed.
• Prune and trim trees, shrubs, and hedges to ensure a neat appearance.
• Weed and maintain planters and raised beds.

Lawn and Ground Maintenance:

• Maintain pathways, parking lots, and other areas by removing leaves, trash, and debris.
• Perform seasonal tasks such as leaf blowing and prep for the seasons.
• Ensure all outdoor furniture and equipment are clean and in good repair.
• Use a pressure washer to remove debris and clean

Light Maintenance:

• Perform some painting, and replacing string light bulbs.
• Assist with maintenance of facilities including routine checks for minor fixes..

Equipment Maintenance:

• Ensure all landscaping and maintenance equipment is in good working order.
• Perform regular checks and maintenance on tools and machinery.
• Report equipment malfunctions or damage.

Safety and Compliance:

• Follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations regarding chemical use and saftey.

Other Duties:

• Assist in setting up and taking down for events.
• Provide general support to other staff if needed.
• Respond promptly to emergency requests.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools used in landscaping and light maintenance.
• Ability to operate basic maintenance equipment such as, trimmers, and blowers.
• Basic maintenance skills/knowledge (will train right person).
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Good physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor tasks.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. (must have)

Preferred Skills:

• landscaping and basic tool knowledge.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Knowledge of plants, flowers, and lawn care practices (preferred but not required).

Working Conditions:

• Work primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Physical activity including lifting (up to 50 pounds), bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Use of chemicals and fertilizers with appropriate safety measures.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
