- Grounds maintenance and Soil Associates are dependable and hardworking with managing soil products, restocking and organizing soil/hardgoods/fertilizer products and ensuring a clean, efficient work environment. There are many different working hats within this role. Soil associates are expected to work as a team, communicate effectively within the team, and assist the team with different organizational tasks throughout the nursery.
- Bring out/in all wagons, carts, and tools at the beginning and end of the day
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in soil and storage areas
- Help water and fertilize plants
- Help label and organize different soil types and amendments
- Follow all nursery safety and handling protocols, especially for heavy lifting
- Assist the team with heavy lifting of products and reorganizing of displays
- Assist customers who are shopping for pottery
- Monitor pricing of outdoor pottery and garden art.
- Sweep, dust, and de-web the greenhouse.
- Maintaining clean windows and doors in the greenhouse. plant rows and pick up/stabilize any fallen plants/statuary
- Clean/wash/organize pottery, statuary, bird baths, statues etc.
- Maintain a clean weeded/mowed area of the front and back landscape outside of our fence
- Check that all doors and gates are locked at the end of the day
- Dispose of all green waste, trash bins, and recycling out as needed
- Bring out cardboard/trash/rec
- Leaf Blow common areas and parking lot
- Communicate/answer radio calls for soil, help, etc
- Load soil products/tools/plants for customer purchases or internal nursery use
- Monitor and manage soil inventory and report shortages or supply needs
- Restock soils and fertilizers as needed while maintaining pricing accuracy
- Assist in receiving/pricing products upon arrival such as soils, hardgoods, plants, etc.
- Weed, rake, and sweep outdoor areas throughout the nursery
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
