The Tides Inn is a beloved waterfront, luxury resort nestled on Carter’s Creek in Irvington, Virginia. The resort features 70 luxurious accommodations, tennis and pickleball courts, full-service spa, an 18-hole golf course, a functioning farm, Maker’s Space (artistic activities), its own large marina, and two cherished restaurants including Salt & Meadow Restaurant.

Job Summary

Contributes to the maintenance and success of the Tides Inn Farm Operations. This position involves a variety of manual tasks that support the growth and harvesting of crops, maintenance of farm equipment, and overall upkeep of farm facilities.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Provide a list of responsibilities and duties of this job:

Regular and Reliable Attendance is an essential function of this role.
Assist Farm Supervisor with winter projects and farm tasks as needed.
Fence Construction and Maintenance
Preparation of fields and planters for winter.
General Clean Up and Maintenance of Farm Property.
Light carpentry work and use of Farm Equipment.
Loading and Unloading produce.
Weeding and pruning plants.
Applying fertilizers and pesticides.
Repairing and maintaining farm structures.

Qualifications

Provide a list of the qualifications that are necessary for someone to fill this position:

Prior Farm or Agricultural Experience Preferred
Knowledge of basic carpentry concepts.
Familiarity with crop types and planting techniques
Understanding of Irrigation systems
Ability to follow instructions and work independently
High School Diploma or equivalent

Physical Requirements

Work Environment: Outdoor, in varying weather conditions.
Equipment Used: Basic Tools, Saws, Fencing, String Trimmer, Lawn Mower,

Travel Expectations – No Travel is Required for this Role.
Driving Requirements: Golf Cart, (Motor Vehicle Record Monitoring may be required). Valid Driver's License Required.
