SUMMARY:
The Groundskeeper/Maintenance position plays a key role in maintaining the safety, appearance, and overall functionality of outdoor spaces and facilities. This position is responsible for landscaping, routine maintenance, and minor repairs to ensure a clean, well-kept, and welcoming environment for employees, visitors, and tenants.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and takes pride in maintaining high standards. This role supports the overall image and operational efficiency of the organization by ensuring grounds and facilities are consistently maintained and issues are addressed promptly.

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or general maintenance

Ability to operate groundskeeping equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, hand tools, etc.)

Basic knowledge of safety procedures related to maintenance and landscaping work
-
Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
-
Must hold a valid Pesticide Applicator License OR be willing to obtain one upon hire
-
Certification or training in landscaping, horticulture, or facilities maintenance
-
Experience with irrigation systems

Basic knowledge of electrical or plumbing repairs
-
Familiarity with sustainable or environmentally friendly landscaping practices

Valid driver’s license
-
First Aid/CPR certification
-
Perform routine landscaping tasks such as mowing, trimming, planting, and maintaining grounds

Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides safely and in compliance with regulations
-
Conduct inspections of grounds and facilities to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards
-
Perform minor repairs on buildings, equipment, and outdoor structures (fences, walkways, irrigation systems, etc.)

Operate and maintain equipment safely and efficiently
-
Maintain cleanliness by properly disposing of debris and waste
-
Assist with seasonal duties such as leaf removal or snow removal
-
Coordinate with management to prioritize tasks and report major repairs
-
Strong knowledge of landscaping tools and equipment
-
Ability to identify and troubleshoot maintenance issues
-
Good time management and prioritization skills

Effective communication and teamwork abilities
-
Attention to detail and commitment to quality work
Ability to analyze problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to follow written or diagram-based instructions and apply reasoning to routine situations.

Regular use of hands for handling equipment

Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally

Visual requirements include close vision, color vision, and focus adjustment
