Groundskeeper

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Maintain campus lawns by irrigating, mowing, edging, hand trimming, fertilizing, weed eating, and any other methods to keep our campus visually and operatively pleasant. Clean off walkways, roads, and landscaped areas when finished mowing and trimming.
• Maintain various campus trees, shrubs by pruning, trimming, watering, and using appropriate spraying of herbicides, insecticides, fungicides, weeding, and cleaning of formal and informal landscaped areas.
• Remove and/or sweep (mechanical or hand) up dirt and debris from roadways, parking lots, sidewalks, steps, and all areas requiring service.
• Participate in ongoing upkeep of all roadways and parking areas.
• Maintian surface drainage basins and water ways.
• Assist in development and implementation of immediate and long-term plans related to grounds and equipment.
• Determine needed supplies and materials to complete work orders/projects and estimate cost of materials.
• Prepare areas for the laying of sod/seeding of various lawn and other agricultural seeds.
• Assist as needed with mail delivery, trash removal, and assisting other general maintanence co-workers in completing work orders and responding to the ever-changing needs of the Physical Facilities department.
• Remove snow and ice from roads, walkways using plows, power broom, shovels, and the spreading of ice melting agents.
• Collect recyclables weekly or upon request.

What We're Looking For:

• At least 2 years experience
• A valid driver's license
• Ability to operate heavy equipment
• Team player and self-starter
