Groundskeeper - Temporary

HBM is looking for a groundskeeper to join the facilities team in maintaining the grounds of an independent private school. This is a temporary position with the possibility of turning into a regular full time position. We are looking for someone with experience in landscaping or groundskeeping. The schedule is typically Monday-Friday 730am-4pm.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Director of Facilities and overseen by the Head Grounds Keeper, the Grounds Keeper is responsible for maintaining the landscape of the property.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Mowing lawns, removing weeds, trimming shrubs, planting new greenery, and removing unwanted plants.
• Performs regular preventative, reactive, and predictable maintenance on irrigation systems, landscape, hardscape, and drainage systems.
• Conducting all job duties in accordance with company policy and all safety protocols
• General handyperson functions to satisfy jobs throughout the facility. Includes small repairs, painting, hanging items etc.

Qualifications (knowledge, skills, abilities):

• High School Diploma or equivalent Basic knowledge of gardening irrigation and landscaping work, and the various tools required to perform landscaping/gardening work.
• Ability to communicate with property staff and team members in a clear, professional manner.
• Ability to adhere to company safety protocols.
• Able to work independently and complete tasks.
• Ability to use landscaping tools including mowers, blowers, and trimmers.

Must pass a federal background check (Livescan) Vaccination requirement: TB testing

Authorized to work in U.S.

Valid Driver License

Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, pull, push 50 pounds.
Ability to stand and walk during the whole shift and perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, and twisting. Able to walk up and down stairs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
