Group Home Support Staff/Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Schedule: Full-time / Part-time / Shifts Available

Job Description

We are seeking dependable and compassionate Group Home Support Staff to work with individuals with disabilities and behavioral challenges in a residential group home setting. Staff will assist residents with daily care, maintain a clean and safe home, administer or assist with medications as trained, and support residents during community outings and appointments.

Responsibilities

• Provide supervision and support to individuals with disabilities and behavioral needs

• Assist with feeding, meal preparation, and dietary needs

• Administer or assist with medications per training and agency policy

• Maintain cleanliness of the home (bedrooms, bathrooms, common areas, laundry)

• Transport residents to appointments, activities, and outings

• Support residents during public outings and ensure safety and appropriate behavior

• Follow individual care plans and behavior support plans

• Use approved de-escalation techniques when needed

• Complete daily documentation and reports

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license required

• Clean driving record

• Ability to transport residents safely

• High school diploma or GED preferred

• Ability to follow medication administration procedures (training provided)

• Reliable, patient, and able to work with behavioral challenges

• Must pass background check, DMV check, and required screenings

• Flexible availability (evenings, weekends, holidays as needed)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and assist residents as needed

• Ability to respond appropriately during behavioral situations

Pay: $15.00 - $15.50 per hour
